Healing happens in relationship. In fact, research shows that the client-therapist relationship is one of the most important factors in successful counseling. We will work to build a strong, supportive relationship that will be the context for your healing, establishing and re-establishing goals along the way.
My practice is holistic, addressing the mind, body, and spirit. We will focus not only your thoughts and emotions, but also your physical symptoms, cultural background, family system, and spirituality. We will also explore the impact of childhood and adulthood traumas on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We will get to know you deeply, listening for your authentic voice and deepest longings. Our sessions will include profound conversation and silence as well as lightness and laughter. My goal is that you will grow to know and love yourself in a way that transforms your life and sets you free.
To get the most out of therapy, I recommend carving space in your life to process our work through journaling, recording your dreams, talking with trusted friends and loved ones, and diving into books, articles, workshops, and movies. You can reference some resources here. Incorporating yoga, exercise, hobbies, and mindfulness can also help deepen therapy and increase your mental, physical, and relational well-being.
Most clients find that weekly appointments help with continuity and growth, though some clients come bi-weekly or monthly, depending on the level of support they need. We will work together to establish a rhythm that makes sense for you.
